Hello. I'm Eric
I grew up on a mixed sheep and cattle property just north of Inverell in NSW Australia. I have always lived on farms, worked with stock and trained working dogs all over Australia and in Canada. I trained as a shearer in the early nineties and worked as a shearer for many years. It was while working as a shearer that I really started to appreciate how useful a well trained and bred dog could be. In 1999, I took up a job as a stock manager on a large property at Bendemeer, NSW. The property was located on the western side of the tablelands so the country was quite steep and wintered very hard. So you needed good dogs and stock skills to get clean musters out of paddaocks that were as big as 1200 ac. and very rough and steep. This position required me to care for 1000 head of cattle and 12000 sheep. The only way to manage all these animals was to have a great team of working dogs.
In my spare time I enjoy sheep dog trialing - yard, cattle and utility. I have a great team of working dogs, mainly border collies to take to the trials. Over the past three years, I have been training a fantastic group of dog handlers throughout the Gold Coast and Brisbane to work their dogs on sheep and compete at trials. Due to financial reasons I took a full time job in October 2008 running a 3500 acre property south of Beaudesert Qld and had to cease my regular night training facilities. April 2009, I recommenced training sessions on a casual basis to fulfil the needs of interested dog owners/handlers. I run clinics both here at Beaudesert and at other locations around SE Qld.
I am also passionate about city people having working dogs in the city. Working dogs are bred to work and when they don't have a focus they can cause their owners many problems. Working bred dogs such as Border Collies, Kelpies, Blue Heelers, etc are the most abandoned dog. This is mainly because people can't manage their dogs, many people can't even take their dogs for a walk without drama. This makes life very uncomfortable for the owner , their family and most of all the dogs . I have a range of techniques to help dog owners to understand and live with their dogs in comfort .
Ten years ago, after some serious illness, my wife and I discovered homoeopathic medicine. We started treating our whole family with this alternative medicine.
